Guys, when can you start to see coraline algae in a new tank? After 6 mths or 1 year? Any parameters to note to achieve or the standard ca400 mg1350 kh8 will eventually produce coraline algae?

    Thanks for all your inputs!

I got my liverock almost fully covered with corraline algae in just 1-1.5month by raising mg to 1.7k

Any downside to raising mg until that level? And you maintain that level for how long?

Coralline requires low phosphate. Coralline is the same as coral skeleton, and high phosphate (such as over 0.2 ppm) slows or stops the calcification process. Once phosphate is brought down, coralline starts showing up in little speck in a week or two.
